Ornithology:

Thanks to the exceptional biodiversity of the area, birdwatching is one of the most enjoyable and educational activities we offer in the field.

Thanks to our guides, we offer access to observation points without causing any disturbance to the wildlife we observe.

Representative species of our area:

RAPTORS

The most representative species are cliff-nesting birds; depending on the season, we may also observe migratory species.

Griffon vulture, Black vulture, Egyptian vulture, Golden eagle, Bonelli’s eagle, Eurasian eagle-owl, Peregrine falcon, Short-toed snake eagle and more species upon request.

FOREST AND PASSERINE BIRDS

In each ecosystem and season we can observe different groups of birds, from those inhabiting dense forests to those living along riverbanks or among juniper groves and high plateaus.

Northern goshawk, European green woodpecker, Lesser spotted woodpecker, Eurasian nuthatch, Short-toed treecreeper, Golden oriole, White-throated dipper, Ring ouzel, the four thrush species, buntings, tits, and many more species.

STEPPE BIRDS

The ecosystem diversity of the Molina de Aragón–Alto Tajo region allows us to enjoy very different bird groups, such as steppe birds.

Great bustards and their spectacular mating displays (“leks”).
Little bustards, increasingly scarce in our skies.
Dupont’s lark, “the invisible bird”, one of the most endangered birds in Europe and a major challenge for expert birdwatchers.
